Conference Assistant Positions
University Housing Services (UHS) is currently accepting applications for Conference Assistant (CA) positions for the upcoming Summer 2026 term. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in gaining experience in hospitality, facilities management, and customer service, all while contributing to a safe and welcoming residential community.
Position: UHS Conference Assistant
Term: Summer 2026
Hours: 30โ40 hours/week
Compensation: California Minimum Wage per hourly shift, $18.45, Paid housing
About the Role:
Conference Assistants will support the UHS team in maintaining a safe, organized,
and guest-friendly residential environment for both summer residents and conference
guests. In addition to completing tasks in their assigned functional area, CAs will
also serve in an on-call rotation (overnights and weekends) to respond to urgent needs within the community.
Functional Area Assignments:
CAs will be placed in one of the following specialized teams:

Student Assistant Positions
Hourly Student Leader Positions
The positions available for the 2026 - 2027 academic year are the following: Peer Academic Success Coach (PASC), Student Administrative Assistant (SAA), Evening Student Administrative Assistant for Community Desks, Community Desk Assistant (CDA), Evening Community Desk Assistant (ECDA), and International House Office Assistant (IHOA).
Appointees may hold only one (1) student leader position within University Housing Services. If offered more than one student leadership role, the appointee must choose which position they wish to accept.
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following GPA requirements at the time of application and throughout their employment:
- A minimum cumulative and semester 2.5 GPA for all positions
- A minimum cumulative and semester 3.0 GPA for the Peer Academic Success Coach (PASC) position
Student Leader Info session attendance is required in order to receive the application link. Students who are reapplying for the same position are not required to attend an information session.
