Donate to Faculty Award
Your contribution matters!
Please consider a donation to the ERFA Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award fund. This fund, created by the ERFA Board in 2014, is administered by the Tower Foundation, which is a 501C (3) organization. As a result, all donations to the ERFA Faculty Research and Creative Activity fund are tax deductible.
There are two ways to donate:

- Donate by check. Please fill out a donation form [docx] and mail your check, with the form, to our ERFA Tower account liaison (details with the donation form).
On behalf of the membership of ERFA, the Board made awards of $2500 each for 25 faculty members from AY 2014-2015 to the present. The awards support current faculty – tenured, tenure-track and long-term lecturers – in their research and creative activities.
Since our Annual Spring Business luncheon in 2015, the ERFA Board has invited each year’s awardees to make a short presentation at our annual spring business luncheon. Members have enjoyed hearing about the projects that the award helped to fund. This year's recipients:
-
Dr. Laura Miller-Conrad, Department of Chemistry
-
Dr. Miller-Conrad is studying biofilm disruption in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a major cause of hospital-acquired infections. Results will provide preliminary evidence for a grant, enhance student training and may ultimately assist in combatting infections of resistant strains of bacteria.
-
-
Dr. Marco Meniketti, Department of Anthropology
-
Dr. Meniketti will record sites and artifact deposits that are endangered by climate change. The project will use 3D capture technology to document heritage sites in California and indigenous prehistoric sites in the Caribbean to create virtual landscapes suitable for future study.
-
-
Dr. Marie Haverfield, Department of Communication Studies
-
Dr. Haverfield will interview Latine and Vietnamese community members and health leaders to establish a more culturally sensitive framework for Relationship-Centered Care. This study aims to identify cultural expectations to improve patient satisfaction, trust, medical adherence, health self-management and care access.

Grants are made possible through your generous donations and are not supported through dues.
We invite you to join your colleagues in keeping the momentum going with a tax deductible donation to support the ERFA Faculty Research & Creative Activity Awards. Thank you for considering this request. To donate online: giving.sjsu.edu/erfa
